QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE
WHAT IS THE WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE?
In June,September and October, daytime temperatures in our area range from the high 70’s in the daytime to evenings in the 50’s. Typically it is sunny, but be prepared with the proper rain gear. Packing clothing that can be layered is highly recommended.
DO I NEED TO TIP?
No your tour includes all gratuities.
WHO ARE OOH LA LA TOURS DESIGNED FOR?
This tour is designed for groups of inquisitive, active people, from the seasoned traveler to the first-time traveler to France. Travel with your friends or family, or travel with a walking group, wine group, or book group. Experience together a vacation that has you feeling like an insider in this magnificent region of France.
IS WINE INCLUDED AT MEALS? WHAT KIND OF WINES?
Yes, wine is included in all lunches and dinners. Our restaurant hosts will carefully select premium regional wines to compliment your courses. The focus will be to introduce you to appellations not available to you at home, and to be sure you experience wines appreciated by the locals.
WHAT TRAVEL DOCUMENTS WILL I NEED FOR THIS TOUR?
All travelers to France are required to carry a valid passport. Please make 2 copies of your passport and personal identification before you depart. Keep one set of copies with you in a separate location from your travel documents, and leave the other set of copies with a contact at home. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with your consulate general for entry requirements.
DO I NEED TO BE AN ATHLETE TO PARTICIPATE?
No, but exploring this region of France requires a certain amount of walking. Many sites cannot be directly accessed. You will need to plan on walking approximately 2-3 hours a day.
ARE ACTIVITIES PRESENTED IN ENGLISH?
The tours are designed for English speaking guest. There will be times when there will be some translation. We are going to family run farms and vineyards that are our friends. We have decided that this is more important than finding English speaking farms. (Local color trumps language convenience.)
WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER?
There will be limited shared access to a laptop computer. There is WIFI access.
There will be converters for each apartment. These can be used on cell phones and laptop computers. Hairdryers will be provided in each bathroom.
IS THERE A WASHER AND DRYER?
Yes, there is a washer and a dryer!
Could we arrange a different type of tour?
Please send an email describing what you have in mind. The dates for the Stables are not flexible. Remember that I would be thrilled to organize a customized program for your group. We'll work together to select accommodations and your daily activities. Some alternative tour ideas would be to focus more on history, walking, or gardens. Please see the Customized Tours page.
